Okay. We're starting on week 2 of this round in the hospital. I think that David, Brenda, Jimmy & I - among others - fully expected to be making arrangements to take Kaylee to Cincinnati Children's Hospital, for lack of other alternatives. However, we have a little more encouragement this morning in regards to her treatment plan here at Children's Mercy in Kansas City.
A new (to us) attending physician was with the team today, and adjustments are being made in medications. Dr.Friesen warned us that it would probably be a couple of days before the new combination of medications will begin taking effect, but that they should help control pain while working toward a cure. If, however, they're not working by late in the week, he will move on to another treatment plan. He still has a few more options, but you can only try one at a time!
We do understand that each body is unique, and response - especially within the gastric system - varies from person to person, so there is an element of trial & error. Right now, we're kinda' ready for some trial & success!
The awesome assurance is that our Creator - Kaylee's Creator - knows every cell of her body, and is quite able to heal her body. We're watching to see if He chooses one of those totally unexplainable healings, or if He chooses to work through grantiing insights to the doctors who are on her case. Meanwhile, we know that there is an amazing outpouring of prayer on her behalf, and that heaven knows what's going on down here! Our sense is that God is doing things beyond our imagination through this!
Thank you for caring and praying!
Love you all!
Kay

Kaylee,
ReplyDeleteWhile we have never met I know that you are my sister in the Lord and you are our my prayers daily. We pray that our Savior will take the pain away, that He will give the Doctors wisdom in finding a cure for you and that ultimately the Lord will heal you. You and I both know that only He can heal and the Doctors are but instruments that He uses to bring about that healing. You have a great faith that I am sure will carry you through this and I look forward to the day that I get to meet you in person and you can tell me the many ways that our Lord has blessed you during this time. God bless you and keep you.
