August 21, 2009 (from David)

"She's feeling good right now, because they've got her on Nubain (similar to morphine).  The GI went well.  She drank the fluid, which was good (better than putting another tube in).  The test showed that there is still some blockage, but it is better than when we first came in.  That means that the duodenum is better.  So, we're now trying to understand what is causing her the pain that is not associated with the SMA.  She's still off her feeding tube & getting nutrition through the IV.  So, right now it's just a slow process of elimination.  We have another GI doctor looking at her case that is suppose to be one of the best in the nation so hopefully he will see something."

  1. hey, kaylee! i'm a friend of the hasse's; we all go to dayspring. lori (do you call her aunt lori?) just sent me your blog, so here i am! i'm kinda new to this blog thing, but i now have about 6 that i check everyday. i've always preferred getting and sending stuff through snail mail, but i'm beginning to come around to this blog thing. it is a great way to keep up with friends and family. okay, i'm just rattling now. ask lori and jim. they can tell you i do that a lot!
the main thing i wanted to tell you is that you are in my thoughts and prayers throughout the day. i know there are a lot of people that you don't know and will probably never meet that are praying for you, sweetie.
    love, hugs and prayers,
    merry

ps i hope you and your family get to visit us at dayspring sometime and we will get to meet.

    God bless you!

  2. Hello Merry,

This is Kaylee's mom, Brenda. Thank you so much for taking the time to send Kaylee that package. She is so excited for each new day so she can open another letter. That is such a wonderful this to anticipate something good. It reminds me of how we should feel about the LORD each new day.
