August 16, 2009am (from Brenda)

Well, it seems we have hit another hurdle. Kaylee threw up several times on Friday and Saturday. She has not been able to tolerate the feedings and has lost another 3 lbs. She is very lethargic and is experiencing very high levels of pain in her intestines. We are back in the hospital to see what can be done to stop the downward spiral she is on.

We know that the LORD has not been shocked or surprised by this illness. God is sovereign and in control of all things and works all things for the good of those that love him and are called according to his purposes in Christ Jesus. We know that God has not allowed this into our lives without specific reasons and because God is so good we embrace this time of suffering with expectancy. In the Bible, it is when the odds are stacked against his children that he shows himself mighty. We are completely trusting him and his timing.

24 HOURS of FASTING and PRAYING: Kaylee and I have come up with a wonderful idea that will help her and the whole family stay strong. We are going to make a calendar and write the name of someone who has committed to pray and fast for her on that day. If you would like to do this, let me know your name and which day(s) of the week you would be able to fast. (EX: Brenda, anyday) Kaylee and I will go through and assign people to specific DATES then post the list on this group so you will know the date you are assigned.

When the battle gets more intense, then we want to be equal to the task through prayer. Here are some things we have been praying for specifically:
1. God would open our eyes in the middle of this storm to see him clearly and to give us faith like Peter to step out of the boat and walk on water.
2. We desire for the plans and will of God to be fully accomplished during this time of testing and trial.
3. That God would make himself very real to Kaylee through this time and that she would grow even closer to Him.

Thank you so much,
Brenda
