Hello Everyone,
We went to see the doctor this week and we received great news!!!!....Kaylee will have the tube removed on Monday morning if all continues to go well. She will also be finished taking all her medication. Tomorrow she will no longer be using the feeding tube to suppliment her caloric intake SO she is on her own. She is at 82 pounds which the doctor said was within her ideal weight range so we are no long trying to put on more weight.
Many of you have already heard the dog story but I must share because it warms my heart that God listens to our prayers. I must start the story by telling you that David is highly allergic to dogs. I have tried in vain to convince him to get a dog for 15 years..(I grew up with dogs). When Kaylee first got sick and went into the hospital, one of the special events to cheer her up was to visit the dogs that were brought to the hospital for kids to play with and pet. She began talking to me about how a dog would make her feel so much better. Her and Ryan both continued to plead with me for a dog. Finally at my wits end, I told both of them that I could not do anything and if they really wanted a dog to start praying about it and talking to the LORD. So they have been praying each night for a dog every since. Well, on September 20th just as Kaylee was getting over having the flu which did not allow her to celebrate her birthday, David calls and says he is bringing a stray dog home. As you can imagine, I almost fainted from shock. David goes on to tell the interesting story of why he is bringing a dog home. He returned to his truck after a bike ride to find a dog laying underneath his truck behind his tire. The dog would not move so David slowly maneuvered around the dog with the help of a friend. As David began to drive off, he watched in the rear view mirror and could not believe what he saw....this dog was running after the truck. David pulled off the road and the dog ran past his truck. David asked his friend what the dog was doing and he replied, "Laying down in front of your truck." So David, who would never do this, picked up this emaciated stray dog that was obviously in deep need and brought him home. When Kaylee came out into the backyard and saw the dog her first words were, "God brought us a dog and look he is very thin just like me." We have named in Landahl (the name of the place where David found him) and he has checked out clean on all accounts....no heartworms, no parasites and he continues to grow stronger and stronger each day. He does not bark (which David loves about him) and he already loves each of our family with a devotion and adoration that floors me. It is almost as if he realizes that we saved him and that our family needs him as much as he needs us. Kaylee and Ryan have fallen head over heels in love with their sweet dog that they prayed for and that the LORD said yes too.
